Default New PvP Outpost: Zaishen Game Arena (Weekly Automated Random Game)

Ok. Here you are: the extended version.
Remember the 'outpost' used for the Costume Brawl? Well, then:

THE IDEA
I suggest to turn that outpost into the 'Zaishen Game Arena'.
Each week, 1 random game would be automatically selected, activated and announced in the login screen.
* "This week's game is XXXXX!"

GAMES
The games would be the ones we already have:
- Costume Brawl
- Snowball Fight
- Dragon Arena
- Rollebeetle Racing
And maybe one or two more if there is time and resources to add them.

JOINING IN
* To join a from the outpost, players must have at least one Zaishen Game Ticket in the inventory. They will look much like Boardwalk tickes, but maybe green instead of red. They will be stackable and have no merchant value, like most PvP-related items.
* Once you have at least a ticket, you either hit a 'start' button like in the other PvP outposts, or talk to the NPC like in Nightfall challenges.
* You will need tickets only to join each fight, if you win, the next battle will need no tickets, but if you lose, you'll need another one to join.
* Tickets could be purchased with one or more of the following things:
- Balthazar Faction
- Skill Points
- Tournament Tokens
- Tournament Reward Points
- Gold
- Other (post your ideas for this one)
* An NPC using the Zaishen Priest model (like Tolkano) will be the one there exchanging the tickets. It could be Tolkano himself (with a different dialog) or some other name, to make a joke, like... Xortano, for example.

PRIZES
Getting gamer points all year round and some 'easy and fast' Balthazar faction is price enough, so I see no need for any other prices.
Game Arenas would give additional prices like Victory Tokens only during festivals, just like they already do.

FESTIVALS
* During festival events, all games of the event would be active, not just one, and all of them would be for free, just like now.
* The Zaishen Game Arena would not work during the festival, but the outpost would stay open. Instead of letting you into the game, the NPC there would send you to the correct outpost of the minigame if you own the appropriate campaign, much like the Kurzick/Luxon ambassadors withe the Competitive Missions.
* When the festival ends, the Zaishen Game Arena keeps the event's main game, but just one (for example, Dragon are in Dragon Festival and Rollebeetle in Canthan new year), but they are no longer free to join after the even has finished.

And done! Gamer points all year and something more to spend thing in.

OPTIONAL ADDITIONAL IDEAS: (Don't vote no to the whole idea if you don't like this ones, they are just optional, post yours if you have some!)
* If a Realm if Dwayna was added, it could be like Tihark Orchard and have some minigames where you'll compete with various creatures from all over the world, and you would also earn tickets to this games there.
* Three more tracks would be designed for rollerbeetle races over time to make up to 4 of them: One per campaign.
* Games could be 'masked' so the event games keep their uniqueness. For example, snow fights could be masked as 'mud fight' to make them different from the Wintersday arena. Skills would work the same, but look different, the area would be Maguuma-like with ponds and mud and the skills will have different name(mud instead of snow) and icons(brown instead of white).
* A 6vs6 Dwarven brawling arena could be added as a new game. Like Rollebeetles teach people to move with WADS and the Dragon Arena to strafe and time projectiles, the Dwarven tournament would teach people to time interrupts and knockdowns.

Cool idea, altho there wouldn't be any specialness left about the canthan new year festivals etc, besides the 9-rings ofc.

No thanks, the whole point of festival games is that theyre rare and thats what makes them so fun. Having a different one each weak defeats the point of having them in the first place.

i also dont want everyone to suddenly become better, makes the matches last longer which equals less gamer points for me.

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with Jiggles on this one. It seems cool at first, but as I got to thinking, part of the fun of the festival is to have these different games at each one.

I think you wanted "Prizes" not "Prices"

Personally I like it, would be fun, and while it may make certain festivals less enticing/looked forward too.... I would make that sacrifice. In any case, this is one of the few Sardelac ideas that is actually worth considering. 2 thumbs up for that alone!

I like it, and I think ANet's mistaken in that the games are only popular because they're available once or twice a year.

make it so that tickets are auto customized for character who obtains them.
and then:

pvp char buys them with baltazar points
pve char buys them with skill points - really they are just useless after legendary skill hunter, would add them some usefulness at least.

Also i don't think this should count for gamer title - would be too easy to get then. This should be just added for fun and maybe redo maps for all these games, so event games are still somewhat unique

And yeh, some ppl love these games and want to farm for items during events, so they must pick between 2 things they want/need - this way they can farm during events and play at any time

I thought of that, but it's not like you can't already buy stars of transference and Balthazar flames, so I discarded that.

I also thought about that. Actually, since more people would get into the games all year round, they ould get better in them and won't be so easy.
I would agree with giving MUCH less points. For example, 20% of the points you would win during the Classic festival arena. So in this example you'll get by getting 1st in in Rollerbeetles 10 points instead of 50.

Yup, one of my additional ideas. Change textures here, replace trees there... and ding! A different-looking arena. Mud instead of snow for Snow battles, Sing Jea Theme instead of Imperial Theme for Dragon Arena, new tracks for rollerbeetles (for example: one with Mage Isle Theme, one with Istani Theme, another with Tarnished Coast Theme, etc) imagine having to ride the rollerbeetles ove a bridge of floating rocks!

Yup, since these arenas will give points and Balthazar faction like the rest of the PvP arenas (Gladiator, Hero, Commander points, etc + Balthazar faction)
The main purpose would be a lot of fun... and a tiny help for the game for those that can't be in most events. Not much, of course.

I took care of that with the 'masking', so the unique appearance of the festival arenas stay unique and with no festival items like Victory tokens. Just fun and points, with no rare rewards.

Hm... that's actually a reason to SUPPORT the idea, XDDD.

The whole gamer title defeats the purpose of gamer points. What's really the only reason for titles? Maxing (with few exceptions, such has Hero, Glad, and Champ). Gamer is virtually unmaxable, but shows no player skill or experience, as the 3 counterexamples I mentioned.

@ OP: I assume you meant "prizes" not "prices" in the thread, but I agree with that part.

Only thing I don't agree with is the Dwayna's Realm part, as it seems kind of random almost to the point of being irrelevant.

As I said - festival events are for festivals to make them festivalish. What would be unique when it happens yearround? I'd be alright with a NEW way to get gamer points- something that's actually fun for more than 2 days, like, a gun game or something. But, this is GW. Maybe something like the challenge areas where you compete for daily gamer points (top 50, no group/person can rank more than once on the board per day). And simply doing it gives balth points... for a fee of 100g to enter? Easy gold sink, easy balth place, easy gamer points.

I like everything about this idea, but I think that rather instead of Gamer points for winning, how about Zaishen points?

Doesn't make sense to buy tickets with Tournament Tokens, although that'd allow me to open up one more space on my mule. Gold doesn't seem PvPish, so leave that out too. Skill points and B-Faction would be good things to pay for tickets.

There's an issue with skill points though. The only way to get skill points is though experience, and the only festival arenas that gained experience were ones that counted deaths. Considering this would be a real PvP-style event, I don't see the problem in throwing back in experience gain and death count. Save the death-free arenas for holiday times.

Another idea is that winning a game could earn you a ticket, which you could use to go back in if you lose later.

This event should probably be turned off when a festival is going on that hosts one of the used games.

Overall great idea, and it would give me a reason to look forward to weekends again.

Overall, good idea. I'd imagine it would be 100g for a ticket.
